HAMID ABDOLLAHI - Thigh Lift in SHREWSBURY, NJ

In New Jersey, Dr. ABDOLLAHI performs thigh lift procedures to remove excess inner thigh skin and provide patients with a more toned, youthful appearance to the leg.
A thigh lift re-contours the thighs by reducing excess skin, and fat, which results in smoother, tighter skin and a better proportioned balance to the lower body.
The typical thigh lift patient in New Jersey is experiencing the skin of their inner thighs sagging or dropping. Many thigh lift patients have recently lost a significant amount of weight and are seeking help tightening up loose skin on parts of their body and very often this is done in combination with other cosmetic surgery procedures.
As is the case for many patients, diet and exercise do not achieve the goals we seek -- a body that is firmer and more youthful-looking, without loose or flabby skin. A thigh lift is a good way to achieve the look and a way to gain a better overall body proportion.
In New Jersey, Dr. ABDOLLAHI performs thigh lift procedures to remove excess inner thigh skin and provide patients with a more toned, youthful appearance to the leg.
A thigh lift only treats the inside of the thigh. It does not affect the hips, buttocks, or the outside of the thigh. Therefore, individuals with excess soft tissue along the inner or medial thigh region and/or the outer thigh are good candidates for a thigh lift. Other procedures, such as liposuction, tummy tuck and butt lift, are also available and can be performed by HAMID ABDOLLAHI M.D. at the same time as the thigh lift, if desired. Thigh lifts are not intended strictly for the removal of excess fat. Liposuction alone can remove excess fat deposits where skin has good elasticity and is able to naturally conform to new body contours. In cases where skin elasticity is poor, Dr. ABDOLLAHI may recommend a combination of liposuction and thigh lift techniques.
The procedure usually takes between two and three hours, again depending on the amount of work being done. Incisions can vary based on the area to be treated and degree of correction. HAMID ABDOLLAHI M.D. will discuss this with the patient and make those decisions during the consultation. One technique used for a thigh lift put the incisions in the groin, extending downward and wrapping around the back of the thigh. The underlying tissue will be contoured and tightened, and skin will be reduced which results in a smoother body shape. Another option is for a minimal incision medial thigh lift which involves an incision in only in the groin area. Dr. ABDOLLAHI will determine if this is appropriate after considering each patient’s individual needs and goals. Either IV sedation or general anesthesia is used in New Jersey and depends on the amount of work being done and considerations regarding the patient and Dr. ABDOLLAHI preference. Dissolvable sutures are used and patients usually return home the same day, although some patients will be admitted to the hospital for an overnight stay.

Thighs are normally bruised and swollen immediately following surgery with discomfort being controlled with pain medications. It is not uncommon to experience some discomfort while walking but this usually subsides with two weeks. Patients will follow up with Doctor HAMID ABDOLLAHI at the New Jersey within ten days of the surgery. Walking is encouraged the same day as the surgery but strenuous activities should be avoided for at least three weeks. Most people return to work after two weeks and experience complete recovery within four to six months. Some patients will be asked to wear a compression garment for several weeks following the procedure to minimize swelling and help encourage the thigh area to heal.
Many factors affect the cost of cosmetic surgery procedures. Some of those factors include the geographic region, expertise of the surgeon, amount of work being done, type of anesthesia and if a hospital stay is required. In general, though, a patient in New Jersey can expect to pay between $5,000 and $9,000 for a thigh lift procedure. Medical insurance does not cover this procedure.
