An upper eyelid lift is also known as an upper eyelid blepharoplasty. With upper eyelid surgery, HAMID ABDOLLAHI, M.D. frequently removes both excess fat deposits and loose, baggy skin from the upper eyelids, providing a more youthful, awake appearance to the eyelid area and the face as a whole.

Because this done in the natural crease of the eye, after the eyes heal the scars are usually not visible when the eyes are open. To close the incision, Dr. HAMID ABDOLLAHI will insert fine sutures that will be removed in about a week. The procedure usually takes between half an hour to one hour and the patient may be awake or asleep for the procedure.

Typically, upper eyelid lift surgery patients have a quick recovery. In fact, patients are usually able to be up almost immediately. To be safe, however, activity around SHREWSBURY should be limited for 24 to 48 hours. The eyes will be lubricated with ointment to reduce dryness, and cold compresses should be applied to alleviate any pain or swelling.
